Best Caravan Sites Lake District

Park Foot Holiday Park

Found near Ullswater in Cumbria, this park accommodates touring caravans on both gravel and hard standing pitches. With electric hookups available, there’s a choice of 16 amp and 10 amp. Car parking is available right next to your pitch for added peace of mind. It’s worth noting though that you will need a digital TV aerial if you want to receive a good signal while staying here!

This is a stunning site which is set at the heart of the lakes and on the Ullswater banks, and you can even take your dog with you. As well as its beautiful views, this offers a friendly service. The facilities here, including modern toilet and shower blocks, are also said to be impeccable.

Riverside Tourer Park

Located in the Hesket Newmarket area of Cumbria, this tranquil riverbank location is a smaller destination, but perfect for those looking for a youth free and adult only environment! Dogs are more than welcome on a lead though!

Well equipped pitches here are all hard standing but offer fantastic matured privacy hedges in between each one. Open all year round, pitches are exceptionally well spaced with all possessing an electric hookup. These are all 10amps. Toilets and showers offered here are completely private and all warm and cosy!

Low-cost throughout, there’s an excellent TV reception available here and even free wi-fi as well! Ideally placed for exploring what the Lakes has to offer, the Northern Fells are accessible just five minutes from the park.

Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park

Nestled in ancient woodland and with immediate views of Lake Windermere of almost one mile long, this is said to be ideal for touring caravans. Better still – all charges are laid out in full on their website and are fully inclusive of people, awnings, electrics, parking, and dogs.

With wi-fi available, a family room, shower and toilet block, and even a laundry room, all facilities are conveniently located near the touring section of this park.

This is the perfect spot for accessing both nature walks, and indeed the many watersports on offer at the nearby lake.

All pitches are granted an outside space to allow adequate seating areas and full room for a barbeque. Alongside a designated space for the car, some pitches can even accommodate a boat.

Skelwith Fold Caravan Park

Found in the Ambleside region of Cumbria, this is a most idyllic park which offers a perfect hideaway for those looking for the more rural areas of the lakes. This extends to its abundance of bordered woodland and indeed resident wildlife.

A dog-friendly site, Skelwith Fold pride themselves on their exceptional standards and facilities. These include a modern shower and toilet block, wi-fi access, a library, a drying room, and a laundrette.

Offering 70 standard and 22 premium pitches in total, both types provide electric hookups. However, the premium pitches also offer TV hook up, additional room, a picnic table, a grey waste drain, and a water stand pipe.

Each pitch is perfectly placed to engage with picturesque surroundings, an array of wildlife plus ancient woodlands.

Woodclose Park

Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National park, this is beautifully positioned near the beautiful valley of the River Lune.

Wonderfully situated for walking and cycling, this is a dog-friendly park which is immaculately kept. Touring caravans can access their hard standing touring pitches here and make use of the electric hook-ups, TV points, water, and grey waste drains. Car parking is available right next to the van.

Wi-fi is available alongside excellent washroom facilities, a fully equipped laundry room, and a toilet block. There’s also an on-site shop and a designated wildlife corner highlighting what you could find in the park during your stay.

Waters Edge Caravan Park

Just a few miles from Kendall, Waters Edge can be found amongst fields and countryside on the edge of the magnificent Lake District.

A fantastic dog-friendly park, touring caravans are given a chance to select their prefered pitch area. It’s also possible here to take additional extras such as gazebos, awnings, pup tents, and all for a minimal price.

Every touring pitch here offers an electric hook up connection nearby, easily located grey waste, water drains, nearby water taps and, for a small additional cost, wireless internet access.

Waterfoot Park

Located in the Ullswater Valley, this park is nestled in the grounds of a Georgian Mansion within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nestled in the north of the Lake District, it is a two-mile walk from Keswick, which is among one of the areas most popular centres.

Recently refurbished, standards are high here with dogs welcome on this most adequately sheltered of sites.
